Monte Ross was recently honored as an "Unsung Hero" for Winston-Salem State University and appointed to the advisory board of ETF Venture Funds.

When Monte Ross completed his first season as men's basketball coach in 2006-2007, the coach found himself the subject of criticism for the team's lackluster 5-26 finish and first round elimination in the CAA tournament. What a difference a year makes, however, as this year's team exceeded expectations, posting a 14-17 record and winning their first tournament game under Ross. He also brought in key players who contributed to the team's run this season, including transfer Marc Egerson and freshman Alphonso Dawson.
